Now you’ve red a bit about science–and feel free to read more–design an experiment in your own home. It must have a hypothesis and test something! Write out the design and how you would analyze it. If possible, perform it. Tell me how it goes. Write it out as an experimental design as found on slides 8 and 9 of the PowerPoint about the “Subtleties of Science”. Do NOT do a demonstration!
Do a little research on your topic. Be a scientist. A little thought: we engage in science and experimentation all the time. Did you try a new spice in a recipe? Did you try to figure out whether duct tape will fix something? You see, we do “do science” all the time. So, you can do very simple experiments. Which soap is best? Does baking soda, baking powder or yeast work best when making cupcakes? So on and so forth. Go for it! Impress me!
