explaining the reasons why the US argued that invasion was necessary, and then evaluate the extent to which the occupation has solved these problems.

I would like each chapter to be given to me as it is written. This will enable me be able to edit and confer with my supervisor and also give it back to the writer for revisions. I have started with the abstract and introduction and this is what I was advised:
This question allows you to frame the discussion in a much clear and more straightforward manner. You can start by explaining the reasons why the US argued that invasion was necessary, and then evaluate the extent to which the occupation has solved these problems. By structuring the dissertation in this way, you are giving yourself a direct question to answer.
I would also suggest some theoretical framing. The invasion was driven by neoconservative theory. In particular, the idea that US domestic security is undermined by hostile regimes. The neoconservative solution to this is regime change – using military intervention to install a new government that is allied to the US. It would be interesting to use this framework as the basis of evaluating the success of the US invasion of Afghanistan.
You’ve clearly made a good start. However, this reads more like you are writing a report than a dissertation. Remember that academic writing is about entering into a debate with the existing literature. Try to avoid description – don’t just tell us what is. Your job as academic is to be asking critical questions, questioning assumptions, challenging that which is taken for granted
What is it that you want to argue with this dissertation? What is the key literature that you will be engaging with?
I will attach the abstract and introduction so that if need be revision might be done
